Wow! Our one-year anniversary is coming up pretty soon! There are only four more days! That's right. This forum was made on Christmas Eve. The story is: I was just wandering around the internet, visiting websites like ticalc.org and others. Then, I stumbled upon a dead Proboards forum involving calculators. I thought to my self, "Hmm. It would be fun to make my own forum..." So, I went over to proboards and made my own. I then announced it on ticalc.org and calcgames.org. Some people joined, and it gradually grew bigger and bigger until it became the website that it is today. It now (right now) has 239 topics and 6135 posts, along with 75 members. These are the top 10 posters, along with number of posts and join date: Vladik-2149-Dec 24, 2004 Bfr-2146-Dec 27, 2004 Pure-1309-Jan 21, 2005 Bcherry-584-Dec 24, 2004 (I suspect that this is wrong...) AnyKey-292-Mar 7, 2005 Simon-251-Jan 16, 2005 Kevin Ouellet-42-Jan 29, 2005 Madskillz-29-Mar 26, 2005 Younglinkie-23-Mar 27, 2005 Jc-9-Dec 25, 2004 There are many heavy posters and it is interesting to note that most of the top ten posters joined within a month of the forum's beginning. You can notice that the posts don't add up. I have no idea why. I suspect this is because the system counts the system counts deleted posts in the number of posts for the poster but not for the entire system. Well, I think that this forum had a great year, and I hope that the next year is even better. Thank you all for being at the Ticalcs Forum!

Thanks!
And I should note that we will be moving up to a *real domain*!
It will be something like ticalcs.net... Any suggestions?
Note that this forum will have to be closed and it will be moved to MyBB.
I will try to create an "Author" system based on ticalc.org's that will use PHP...
Look out for that! It will happen as early as within one month.
EDIT: I also plan to have such fluff as a TI Calculator Wiki and whatnot.

Here's what you should have for hosting (minimally): PHP 4/PHP 5 ~ ASP.NET 2 2 MySQL ~ 2 SQL Server 2 Email Accounts 2g bacdwidth 1000mb Space FTP access No ads/google ads/small text link Call it www.ticalcs.org or maybe just www.ticalcs.com

I have 1/2 TERABYTE monthly bandwith, 1000 emails, 25 MySQL databases, and 10 GB of space!
Of course, I have PHP and the FTP acess and whatnot.
No ads of course, but I might add my own to cover expenditures...
I got a very good deal. I was looking at hosting services that cost up to 5x as much and had less features. I already have the domain, I told you.
Ticalcs.org would be an obvious rip-off of ticalc.org, and ticalcs.com is taken (it's an advertising portal).

1and1 Home hosting I assume? That's great. (I was thinking of making my own website with it). Also Perl and Pythong support. It's just too good....

You were also thinking of making the VD website with it.

You were also thinking of making the VD website with it. Yup. I'm really looking forward to TICALCS 2.0, but it might be hard to start over again.

TICALCS2 should be a much larger environment.

I know. Just to set up the main page and the Wikis (and to set up the boards) and it would be perfect. How does it compare to ticalc.org?

Awesome. You need to make categories for the files though. I'm registered.

If you make me an admin or assistant admin or something then I could help.
EDIT: You also need a navigation menu
