I don't think I could possibly program in ASM, simply because of time. I hate large projects, they bore me sooo much. But I guess I will eventually get around to learning the annoying commands. It's not like I'll make the next Mario or anything.

Me neither, for the 68k OR the Z80. But I have TIGCC!

I don't program in Assembly for 2 main reasons:
1. there is a high chance of my calc crashing 2. The commands are annoying

You can backup your on-calc files using a graphlink.

I don't think my mom wants to buy me a graphlink. I could by one with my own money but...

They're cheap on E-Bay... really cheap.

Well, I could give it a try, although my mom doesn't like ordering stuff online...especially on Ebay...but she does like Amazon.com...

We need to get back to talking about Assembly.

Yes. We should.
Assembly is much harder than BASIC or C.

The best way to avoid crashing your calc is to thoroughly test everything you write using VTI. Asm is definitely hard and confusing though, but it is amazing how simple it is for the power you have. If anyone plans on learning z80 asm, they should check out the old ASM GURU tutorials, though I forget where to find them. That's probably the best tutorial I've seen, and requires no prior knowledge.

VTI may not simulate some shells correctly (the Virtual TI-85 failed to install a shell...) If you have a z80 and want to program fast and efficient programs, z80 is the way to go. P.S. I will try to search for the mentioned tutorials. Go back home!

Vladik, I think you shold have said "go to the home page" Go home sounds a little harsh.

On a side note, If anyone wants a ROM image for any calc to use with vti, especially you bfr, send me an email (bcherry@gmail.com) and I'll hook you up. That way you can start to learn z80 asm without getting the graph-link. I'll look on my computer to see if I have ASM Guru still, but I've reformatted at least 10 times and bought a new computer since I last looked at it, so it's probably not around... .... I couldn't find it on my computer, but I got lucky on Google: www.ticalc.org/pub/text/z80/asmguru.zipIt's formatted as a help file, so it is kind of confusing at first, but very handy. If that link dies for some reason, email me and ill send it to you.

Also, I believe that there is a site that has all kinds of ROMs... Including TI roms!
That's how I got my All-Calc ROM collection...
On another side note, how did you get a Gmail account?

There are a few, I spent some time googling and found a full collection. I got my gmail from a friend, I have 6 invites if you'd like one. Just email me at my gmail and ask, and I'll invite you.

How many invites do you need?
Actually, I will pursue this matter only for a "TICALCS" mail account; a year ago Yahoo! offered 4 MB, it now offers 250 MB (a fourth of Google's size).
