If you vote for "Tie between...", indicate which calculators you think are equally good for gaming. I made this thread mostly to make this website (and this board ) more active.

I understand your reasoning bfr. I think the TI-89 Titanium is the best for gaming because it has a standard screen that fits most 68k games normally, and they are all, of course, miles ahead of the z80 games for the 83+ and 84+SE. I ruled out the Voyage 200 because of its wide screen. That is virtually the only difference between it and the 89 Titanium.

Yeah, but you can make a V200 game that just doesn't take advantage of the screen shots. All asm TI-89T games will work on the V200 (pretty much). There can also be games just for the V200/TI-92+ that use the full screen size, which the TI-89T can't handle, making it a bad choice for gaming.

Voyage 200, because the bigger screen is not a disadvantage, even an advantage.

yeah, im going to have to say v200. The big screen does make a difference, and it is super easy to program games to automatically expand to the larger screen, and most do. The other advantage is that it is a two-handed machine like the game boy advance, which makes it more versatile for gaming.

Yeah, how could the big screen be a disadvantage? Because it makes the calculator too big?

The V200 can handle all 68k games in terms of screen size. The TI-89T can only handle TI-89 and TI-89T games. Also, the TI-89T DOESN'T have a standarg screen size. Let me compare the screen sizes os some calculators: TI-82, T-83, TI-83+, TI-83+SE, TI-84+, TI-84+SE have a screen size of 64x96 TI-86 has a screen size of 64x128 TI-89/TI-89T have a screen size of 100x160 V200 has a screen size of 128x240 Most of the calculators havea screen size of 64x96, making that the standard. The standard for 68ks is 128x240, because most of the 68ks have that screen size (TI-92, TI-92+, V200). Many people just makes their 68k games in a 100x160 area so it works on all 68ks, but there are still many games (and many mroe to come) that use the 128x240 screen area. I guess the only advantage of the TI-89T is that yuo can use it some some standardized tests which the other 68ks (excluding TI-89) cna't be used so you can play the games while taking a test, but that only counts for a little. Anyway, who WOULD do that? *cough* bcherry *cough* So, for games, V200>TI-89T (This is one of my longest posts...)

Very true, although referring to bfr's post, this is a chat about "Calculator GAMING"!
And once again, do not double-post, simply modify your message.

I know that this thread is about calculator gaming. I was trying to make a point that a big sreen in critical for gaming. My previous post was ocmpletely on topic.
Most of the poeple at my school might say the TI-83+

It talks about calculator gaming....
Anyway, now that I've got my V200, I'm thinking of making a game, but don't have any ideas.
In the future, I think a foldable graphing calculator would be nice, except it would make it look like a game console =p
But foldable calcs would allow them to easily fit into the user's pocket, and a calc could be twice as tall as a v200, but when it folds, it'd be the same size. Maybe a foldable calc that is a little smaller than the would be nice....
That would allow an adjustable screen position though to make gaming even more comfortable.
--------------------
TI-89T is not meant for gaming though, more for school calculus and stuff.
