Yes, there are ways to use both. Anyway, I use Apache since everybody else seemed to use it and IIS doesn't work on my OS anyway. I wonder if anybody likes IIS but uses Apache because it won't work on their OS. EDIT: I think both parts of the debate go in the "Off-Topic Discussions" board - can somebody move them?

I think that both work well...

So you use both? (The question is "Which do you use?")

No, I think that both of them are good.

I was asking which one you thought was better in the "Part 1" poll. You said IIS, but now you're saying both, and I'm not even asking that.
I think you're confused, I'm asking which one do you USE!

Oh, IIS.

Which OS do you have? What do you even use IIS for? ASP/ASP.NET? I mean, there practically isn't anything for IIS.

Wrong. There is everything for IIS.
And I have Windows XP Professional.

I should rephrase that - IIS comes with a lot, but it isn't the best for php/perl/cgi because
1. Nobody has took the time to figure out what to edit in the ocnfiguration files needed to run these languages.
2. Nobody has made any modules for them to work onn IIS (I think).
btw I have '98 and XP HOME. The '98 id mostly my mom's though.

You should definitely upgrade the 98m though. No reason not to. Besides, 98 sucks!

*cough money cough*
I'm not Bill Gates or anything like that you know. I mean '98 isn't that bad...95 on the other hand.....
The '98 is probably going to be upgraded within maybe 4 years or less =p.
Anyway, IIS works well with some of Microsoft's stuff such as asp.net, SQL server, basically anything else .net....
Apache is better for PHP, Perl, and cgi.
[random]I'm going to try to make a webpage that uses C++ using cgi.[/random]

I doubt he could upgrade his 98 machine anyways, because it will most likely be unable to run XP, and there is no point installing a new OS if it only slows the computer down.
And there is virtually no difference between XP Pro and XP Home. Really. Try and say exactly what is better about XP Pro, and you will find just a handful of features, most of which you never use anyways, and the rest of which make little difference. Pro does not run faster or smoother or anything, it really is not very different. In case you were wondering, I do use XP Pro.

When I said "upgraded" I meant buying a new computer completely. Of course I'n not going to have XP on my this old computer that btw runs Pentium 2 I think.
XP Pro won't really make a difference for the average person, but for .NET developers it has a some of stuff, such as IIS, which doesn't work on XP Home.

Yeah, for the average person, 98 is fine (I mean, it works), but when I compare it to my old computer (which has a dual-boot of Windows 98 and Windows 200 PORFESSIONAL), 98 SUCKS.
Especially if you have a newer computer.

that was kind of out of line, bfr. You make a lot of typos too.

I know, but I don't like using spellcheck. It takes too long and doesn't work with Quick Reply.
Back on topic, Pure, do you use either of these?
